Delete your account
Last updated: May 5, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Just Check account and what happens to your data. You can delete your account without re-installing the app.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)
Open Just Check on your phone or in the web app at jstchkit.navalrishi.com/app and go to:
Profile → Settings → Delete Account
Confirm the prompt. Deletion is immediate — you'll be signed out on every device and your account will no longer be reachable.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't open the app (lost device, uninstalled, locked out), email us from the address you signed up with:
Email naval2sml@gmail.com
We process email deletion requests within 7 days. You'll get a confirmation reply once the account is removed. If you email from a different address than the one on the account, we'll need to verify ownership before deleting.
What happens when your account is deleted
The moment deletion is processed (instantly via the app, within 7 days for email requests), we:
- Mark the account as deleted and prevent further sign-in.
- Scrub your email, display name, password hash, device id, Firebase push token, and avatar URL. Your email is replaced with a non-routable placeholder (
deleted-<random>@deleted.local).
- Delete every refresh token issued to your account — this signs you out on every device.
- Delete every Web Push subscription registered for your account — no more browser notifications.
- Cancel any in-flight queries you posted.
- End any active or disconnected sessions you were part of.
- Remove your responder entry from our short-lived in-memory location index.
What we keep, and why
- An anonymised user row. Once your identity is scrubbed (per the list above), an empty row is kept so historical ratings and reports given by or about you remain attached to a valid foreign key. They become content about a session, not about a person.
- Credit transaction records. Daily refresh grants, charges, earnings, and refunds are kept in our ledger for accounting purposes. They reference your scrubbed user row and don't contain identifying data.
- Aggregate operational logs. Anonymised request logs in Azure Log Analytics expire automatically within 30 days.
What stays on your device
Session chat history, photos, and videos exchanged during sessions are stored locally on your device (IndexedDB on the web, SQLite on Android). They are never uploaded to our servers, so deleting your account does not delete them.
To remove them yourself:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Just Check → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- Web: open the web app, then your browser's Site Settings → Clear data for
jstchkit.navalrishi.com.
